Chris and Patrick’s recent fall wedding at Osteria Via Stato was absolutely gorgeous and so much fun to photograph. An extremely cold day in which we witnessed several other wedding parties bail on shooting outdoors. As the photos show, Chris and Patrick worked it. We are so honored to have been a part of their day. Congratulations!
Patrick and I love Chicago – it is where we both ended up after law school, where we met, and where we love living – and were very excited that we could have our wedding downtown at Osteria Via Stato. It was important to us that our family and wedding party experience the city we love so much, and are thankful that they braved the conditions in the (extremely) windy Windy City before the festivities began. We selected the restaurant as our venue because it was the perfect combination of romantic, rustic, sophisticated, and intimate – plus the food is amazing! It was also important to us to pay tribute to our individual histories; we think knowing where you’ve been is helpful in figuring out where you are going. We had polar bears atop the wedding cake to honor Patrick’s hometown of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and I walked down the aisle to Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty, a nod to my days as a ballerina. Mostly, we love to have fun, and did our best to plan a fantastic night out on the town for all of our guests.
