Monica and Jigar | Indian Wedding at the Hyatt Regency O’hare, Rosemont, Illinois

We’re excited to share Monica and Jigar’s wedding day with you. The preceding events led up to this day which contained the wedding ceremony and reception. We were truly honored to be are part of this occasion. Congratulations M+J.

From Monica:

The big day was finally here! It didn’t hit me that I was getting married that day until my mom’s reaction when she saw me dressed in my traditional Indian wedding gown. That’s when I started becoming a little emotional and it continued throughout the morning as I saw Jigar during our first look, read the beautiful words he wrote in my card, and arrived in the doli as I was carried down the aisle like a princess escorted by my mama’s (mom’s brothers) and male cousins (all from the maternal side as is customary). I held back my tears pretty well until the Vidai, which is a post-wedding ceremony which starts with the bride being accompanied by her parents as they bid her farewell. It symbolizes her leaving her parents and entering the groom’s family. After the Vidai, it was time to party, and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better cocktail party and reception. From the delicious food and cocktails, stunning décor, celebrating with those nearest and deareset to our hearts, uniting two wonderful families, and marrying the man of my dreams…I would say it was the best day of our lives.
